I’ve been working and find that there is one thing that
is really important for me and my business is an
auto-responder. It is vital for ones business it you don’t
let it scare the mess out of you, like it has me for a bit of time.

Writing articles to market a product or service is a great
way to build a business. Articles should be very
informative. They should providing the reader with
information that is relevant to a specific topic and/or
niche. The article usually includes a link to a web page
for more information. The web page, of course, is designed
to sell a product or service that relates to the topic of
the article. That makes sense!

These articles are commonly submitted to article
directories, websites, and ezine publishers. This is one
of the most effective ways to market a service or
product on the Internet. It can become even more
effective when you put it together with the use of an
auto-responder.

Begin by setting each of your articles up in your
auto-responder. It is important that each article have
its very own auto-responder address, so you will
need an auto-responder service that will allow you to
do this. Next, make a master list of your articles, with
the auto-responder address for each article listed
beside the title. You might want to even add
descriptions of the articles on your master list so that
you can remember exactly what they were about.

This may take a long time if you advertise your articles
one at a time…but advertising one auto-responder
address – the one for the master list – won’t take
very much time at all. You can allow other
ezine publishers to use this is a free resource for
their subscribers, and you can simply put it in your
newsletter and on your website.

So this was just a bit of info on auto-responders,
which I think is something that I will bring more
info on in the next day or so. So be on the look
out and watch what I bring to you.

I am sorry that it has taken so long to come back but through a number of problems, one as you know Roger’s recovery has been long and still on going.

BUT, the other problem was that I was messing with this blog and made a major mistake. Guess what I couldn’t login at all. But here is the thing, and I remembered blogging about this on a different blog; BACK UP YOUR FILES ON YOUR BLOG. If I had I would have been able to get back in and continue on without missing a heartbeat.

Well I tried everything on my own and nothing worked. I contacted Word Press.org forum not once but twice and could not find any answer. I then contacted someone else’s forum and again no answer. I mean if they did not know they could at least said something like, ” sorry start over”. Anything would have been good customer service.

I then remembered someone who blogs about wordpress and all you can do with it. I have been getting his newsletters/blogs it seems like forever. His name is Alex Sysoef from Web20Wealth and Expert Wordpress. I contacted him after opening one of my newsletters and asked his help. I had explained what was going on and in less than 24 hours I got an answer from him and the solution was so simple. I was moved to tears, literally. Silly you might think but you have to understand that it made me feel really good that someone, and many would call him a guru, I call him someone who cares about people. http://www.expertwordpress.com/?rid=5471 or http://alexsysoef.com

So many of these so called guru’s seem to forget that they became the so named gurus because people followed them, bought their products, etc.

Customer service is so important for your business. Alex has shown that it makes no difference who you are, if someone is in trouble, or has a problem and you have the knowledge in which to help – then do so. It won’t hurt you. Helping someone never hurts. If you happen to be in business, it may help you in your business.

So the long and short of it all is that helping me with my problem has allowed me back.

It has been about 2 1/2 weeks now that we have been back from the Baltimore conference and I am only slightly more organized than I was before going. 

I have taken their advice and so far have started a brand new site from scratch, though there is nothing on it yet.  i was so proud of my self.  Even Roger was surprised he told me that he would do all my surfing for me if I would build his websites.

The funny thing was it was not all that difficult.  Of course there were a couple little problems that had me a bit uncomfortable – no truth be told – I was pissed.  i wanted to slap my computer silly, then decided to slap the dog instead, but when I looked at Roger I knew that I really wanted to slap him.  This was all his fault.  if he did not take me ……………………..   Well suffice it to say, I slapped no one.  I calmly took a couple of deep breaths, and started again until i got it.  And I did!  I duplicated the membership script that is exactly like our other membership site  (http://www.fastwritingformarketers.com/?rid=233) only i have nothing on it yet.  Once I start working with it I will be able to have another membership site that will deal with pets. 

I think i mentioned that I run a small rescue for parrots called Scattered Feathers.  Well we have 5 parrots, 4 of which are rescues.  We also have a 4 yr old female beagle, which goes by the name of Princess Penny. That was my husband’s idea of a name. (eyes rolling in head)  Anyway the new site will be called BeaksBarksMeow.com.   I know you have seen this before – yes you have only it was .net.  That belongs to our traffic exchange. Don’t let it confuse you.  The point of it all is that I have done what I thought I could not and so far it works.

I am sitting here amongst 2 of 5 of our parrots, while listening to one of the others hollering because she is not in with my husband and I.

In between all this noise we have one very upset beagle female because no one seems to want to play.  Well that is not necessarily true, one of the African Greys would love to play with her, but unfortunately, their definition does not quite resemble the other’s idea of what play is.  But that is a whole other story.

I have been having trouble with my computer over the last couple of weeks.  First someone hacked into my computer to steal my internet cable service.  I would not have cared so much but they screwed a couple of things on my computer, like I lost Google.  You should have seen me.  I was nuts for about 5 minutes – I wanted my google back.  I started singing that song about baby back ribs only using I want my google google back.  Oh it was horrible.

You see I use google alot.  I use Gmail, I rely on my google calendar, etc.  I felt lost and then madder than a wet hen.  When I started to get really upset, one of my african greys say Stop/Start  it is his way of saying stop and start breathing.  He hears me say “stop and then breathe” when things maybe going wrong.  Love that bird.

OK the only way to get it fixed is to wipe out my computer.  Im not prepared to do that yet or if the birds are agitated about something.   Well here comes a virus – sure why not!  I get this thing on my computer that keeps telling me that my computer is unprotected and that I need to buy their antivirus program.  ……I have 4 different programs.  How come none of them picked up on this – huh!!!!!!

Anyway I worked my fingers crazy until I found an email address on this person and went nuts again.  The bird is hollering Stop/Start – Stop/Start and I’m hollering back “I’m breathing, leave me alone”.  If someone had walked in on me I would have wound up in the looney bin.  (See why it is wonderful being married to a Psych Nurse.  He can protect me from those who would think Im crazy).lol

Anyway I shoot of an email using the words hostage and highway robbery, and how I’m going to blog about them and report them to every agency in the world and that they had 48 hours to put my computer back and I did not want to see their add again.  They picked the wrong one to grab a buck from.

Next day no ads, no pop ups, nothing, nada, zilch.  I did find one bit of a problem though – they seemed to have wiped out all my personal info to access many of my programs.  S____ and Damnation.!!!!! You can’t win for losing.  I might have won the battle but CERTAINLY NOT THE WAR.

Whether I want to or not, I now have to wipe out my computer and start over.  I have been backing up my files and folders prior to 12/2/09.  I choose that date because my files were fine up until then.

Having to take each and every one of my favorites and copy the url to a notepad file will help me replace them.

The thing was I was really on a roll with the project I have been working on.  I only hinted to you about it last time.  I hope to have this problem resolved soon and once I am back up I will bring you up to speed.

So in the meantime; grab a cup of coffee, sit and relax and remember to breathe.

Where do I begin.  There is so much I want to talk about, and it appears that there could be several posts in a row, or save my ideas and put one a day out for a couple of days. Now if I can practice patience I won’t do what others have done.  It might be in the interest of a marketer to email their perspective customers/clients, but I know how I felt about receiving multiply emails, it would drive me crazy because I had so many other emails to answer, that eventually I would fall behind in my reading, then get pissed at them, and eventually opt-out of their list.  But that is another story. lol

I have been home from the internet marketing workshop in Baltimore for about 3 weeks now.  At this workshop I met this really cool lady that I’d like to tell you about.

Her name is Amanda van der Gulik, and she’s into teaching kids all about money.

Well, when I met her, I was blown away with her sincere enthusiasm in wanting to help parents find easy ways for their kids to learn about money so they would stop using mom and dad like ATM(bank) machines. We all know what that is like. “I need..” “I want..”. etc.

More over, she wanted to finally end the debate, once and for all, on whether or not kids should get an allowance.

Anyway, I know you’re really into learning all about ways of keeping your own money in your pocket, right?  Well, Amanda’s figured out a way to help.

I really can’t believe what she’s doing… She’s helping parents for *F-R *E-E.  Amanda is on a personal mission to help empower kids to be creative in finding their own way to make money and then showing them how to manage that money so it will work for them rather than them always having to work hard for their money.

I told her, I could learn a thing or two from her also. She laughed, apparently Amanda gets a
lot of comments like that from parents who say, “forget my kids, teach me.” ;o)  One of things I personally realized was that some of her suggestions I had already done with my daughter when she was younger, and there were a lot of other suggestions that I wish I had known about, not only for my daughter, but yes for me too. lol

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know about Amanda, I think she’s on a great cause, and will change our chidren’s world in an incredible way.

Oh, yeah, I did tell you that she’s giving away this really cool ebook, “Allowance Secrets: To
Give Or Not To Give?”  She managed to get the TOP 25 Kids and Money experts to donate a chapter each on their opinions as to whether or not you should give your child an allowance, and then how they recommend your child manage that money.

And she’s giving it away as a gift.   I told her she was crazy to just give it away, but she said she’s determined to help as many parents and kids as she can.

Make sure you let your friends and other family members know about her too. Just think, if you teach them now, you will be able to keep more money in your pocket, and you know those future college students you will have out there, just think if they learn now, you won’t have to worry about them wanting to come back home because they have no money. You will already, with Amanda’s book, give them the tools to manage their money so that mom and dad’s house will be a great place to visit – not live in again! lol

Amanda home schools her children and one of their subjects you can believe is Money and What to do with it.

Well this turned out a bit longer than I expected, but you know this is really a very important lesson in this book of hers.  Think about this, while teaching your children, your nieces, your nephews, mentoring groups, I guarantee you will pick up a few tricks that you yourself will try out.

I am sorry but today is going to be one of those Rant and Raves.  I have been a secretary off and on for more than 30 years, and one of the things that gets to me is the fact that some people don’t think enough of their business to take extra special care in PROOFREADING their site, their copy before sending it out.

You know it is truly not hard to become distracted. What is really hard sometimes is to stay focused. I was listening to a dear friend of mine the other day fussing about what he could not get done, in the meantime other friends of his were sending him all kinds of messages. Were they messages pertaining to business, his blog, the upcoming conference? No they were not. They were about his facebook account and how they had sent him this present and that prize. He rushes right over and takes care of all that and then wonders why he cannot finish what he has to do on his business.

Im not saying you have to become a robot and tend to only the business. What I am saying is, if you want to play, set a time and place to play. If you need to play then don’t complain about what you are supposed to be doing and what you are obviously not.

Personally I believe it is important to take a break and play at least 1 or 2 times a day, for 10 to 15 minutes. Why do you think I say that? First because you need to lighten up your life. Most of us are so stressed because maybe we are on unemployment, maybe we are employed and it is still not enough to keep our heads above water. We know that we want to succeed in this business and that we sometimes tend to block everything and everyone out. We become so serious that we don’t always stop and smell the roses. Yes we want this business to be a success and that it is going to require hard work, but not at the expense of our family, our health and the sheer sanity of ourselves.

Sooooooo taking time to play helps us unwind, so that we can come back to the table with a bit more clarity on the direction of how we want this to go. BUT WHEN playing takes over and leaves no time to do what we are supposed to do, then something is seriously wrong.

I mentioned in my last post that I was going to Baltimore for a conference on Internet Marketing.  It was the best decision that my husband Roger and I have had since deciding to get married. lol

There were people from the UK, Denmark, New Zealand, different parts of the USA and we were all of a like mind – We were Internet Marketers.  Mr. Robert Puddy, along with Donna Fox,  was the person responsible for this conference and they did a bang up job.  A young lady by the name of Stacy made sure that everything ran smoothly.  My hats off to all of them. 

There were a couple of speakers like Soren Jordansen of Click Bank Pirate, Ryan Allaire who is an Affiliate Marketing Manager, Jason Dinner and James Granstaff.  They were all there to speak to us about Internet Marketing. 

There were two in the class who asked to have their sites critiqued.  They where put into the “Hot Seat”.  This is where your site is taken apart, not with cruelty,but in an effort in which to learn the do’s and don’ts of how to set up our websites, sales pages, etc.

Just to pass along a couple of notes: 

1.  Remember to always use the word because in your blogs, websites, sales letters, etc.  That word is very important because it strengthens what you are expressing, whether it is a benefit or a feature of your product or service.

2.  Your Call To Action.  That is something that many of us, including myself, sometimes have a problem with.  A call to action is; go here to buy, click here, etc.  At the bottom of your sales letter remember to put a P.S. in and another call to action.

Well, that is all I have time for today, but I will be returning with more info on what happened at the conference.  There is so much that I now have to do, that I will keep you up to date on my progress, as they may be the same things you might benefit from as well.

I’m really looking forward to a conference that my husband and I will be attending. This conference is going to have many of the people that we converse with on a regular basis from around the world.

As exciting as this is going to be, this is also a working conference. There are many things that I am still learning. I once wrote a blog regarding when is it time to considering yourself a Newbie no more. I said that you would be surprised at all the things that you truly do kno, That personally I would hope to think of myself as a newbie always, because I want to continue to learn new things. On the internet are some of the most creative people I know. New technology, programs, software, pdf’s, you name it. Because of all this, I am constantly on the move to learn as much as I can if it will help me, help the people who come here to learn new tips, and techniques.

In my next entry I hope to be able to show you a great way to organize your internet business, which will be really easy and really fast to find everything you need for your internet business.
